  Thank you for showing your interest in Footwerx. We take great pleasure in providing a comprehensive dance curriculum for our students. Our curriculum is carefully planned so every dancer has an opportunity to succeed. Footwerx offers a variety of classes to meet each dancer’s needs to balance out the tap. Over the past 20 years, I have gained recognition for my ability to develop students into talented tap dancers. 


Footwerx staff will recognize each dancer as an individual and focus on improving their natural talents and abilities in a fun, encouraging and supportive atmosphere. Footwerx (Tap Intensive) was created to allow students to excel beyond their abilities that they cannot get in a regular yearly curriculum. 




  Dancing (Tap) improves balance, rhythm, timing and coordination. Dance lessons promote self-confidence and self-discipline. Footwerx provides a friendly atmosphere for physical development. In addition, our students will receive the personal attention they need and deserve. 


Warming up your body for dance class is essential to preventing injury. A pre-class warm-up and stretch is important for increasing and maintaining flexibility. The Proper warm up before class will make a significant difference in the quality of your dancing. 



Emphasis on technique, terminology and movement with proper execution of isolations, rhythms and styles performed to contemporary music. 


Learning strength through unorthodox dance moves and understanding the rhythm that compliments the style. Funk and street style dancing taught to today’s top music. Hip hop is a very energetic form of dancing. It is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities.


It is a method that allows Tap dancers to have creativity beyond the normal. Improv Tap allows for creativity to become unblocked. One of the basic principles of improvisation tap is that the dancer will not have time to think and will use his/her whole mind, instead of just the conscious part. The dancer draws on an amazing amount of creativity that is usually obscured. The more basic, less scripted this work is, the more the effect is achieved to reach that goal of pure expression of tap dancing. For many Improv tap dancers, improv is therapy and knowledge. 



A well rehearsed choreographed tap routine, set to music (live or recorded) and video to help convey the environment of the show.

Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves. Squats and lunges are also included. Zumba exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training. The music comes from the following dance styles: cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chachacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, hip hop music, axé music and tango.
